Chapter History

The Kappa Pi Chapter of Sigma Kappa was colonized at Clemson University in April 2009. Kappa Pi has always been a relatively large chapter having 120 members in 2009 and now over 230+ members. Kappa Pi was the ninth sorority established on Clemson's campus and is one of thirteen Panhellenic Sororities currently active.

One special part of our chapter, is our close relationship with Clemson LIFE. Kappa Pi was the first chapter on campus and nationally in Sigma Kappa to have Clemson LIFE sisters. Additionally, in 2019 we gained two new members from Ruby's Rainbow, a national non-profit organization that provides scholarship opportunities to young adults with Down Syndrome (pictured below). We are overjoyed to have the opportunity to be a part of their college experience and help them feel welcomed and loved in our sisterhood! Sisters get connected with older members to help mentor them and do fun activities with each other through out the semester!

We have always been a passionate, intellectual, and diverse group of young women who are very dedicated to supporting one another and our community. Since 2009, the women of Kappa Pi have been knit together by our sacred bond and uphold one another to promote friendship, service, loyalty, and personal growth in our day-to-day lives!
