Chapter Philanthropy

Sigma Kappa supports the following five philanthropic endeavors: the Sigma Kappa Foundation, Inherit the Earth, Gerontology Research, the Maine Sea Coast Mission, and the Alzheimer’s Association. Nationally, Sigma Kappa is known for its commitment to Gerontology and Alzheimer’s Research. While we support our philanthropies with unrestricted gifts, Sigma Kappa’s philanthropies each have a tie to our values and traditions that create a unique philanthropic environment in which everyone can participate.

If you are interested in learning more about the Alzheimer's Association and how you can join the fight, here is a video displaying the 2020 Alzheimer's Disease Statistics: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=blQs9klQj9E

In October of 2019, our chapter raised over $55,000 for Alzheimer's Research and were in the Top Five Sigma Kappa Chapters Nationwide donating the greatest amount to the organization! We're hoping to hit or surpass that amount in 2020 by raising $60,000.

Kappa Pi hosts several events each year in order to honor and help these worthy philanthropies, such as: Silent DiSKo, Sigma Kappachino, Clemson Downs Bingo Nights, Week of Giving, "Tombstone Toss" - a cornhole tournament, Service Saturdays, the annual Walk to End Alzheimers, Campus Recycling Initiatives, Supply Drives, and many other campus events.

Upcoming Events:

  • Silent DiSKo
  • Ultra Violet Week
  • Spring Walk to End Alzheimer's

Philanthropy events hosted by Sigma Kappa, Kappa Pi, are open to the community and we encourage all members to join us in our efforts to support these causes.
